It's Been A While :)

I haven't been on here in a while, but a lot has changed!  I have started taking classes online to finish my degree, I have been working for myself (planning weddings) this summer, and now we are moving to OK!

We went down last week to sign the papers on our new apartment and both got great job offers!  Salary, health/medical/vision insurance, free cell phone coverage, etc.  We can't wait!  We will be moving next weekend!

I'm Married!

Our wedding was so amazing!  We had such awesome weather and everything went wonderfully!  I will post some pics as soon as they are done (and after we get back from our honeymoon).  I am so glad that so many of our friends and family were able to share in our special day.  I don't think I stopped smiling all day...it came together beautifully and all of our friend had a great time.  We were dancing until the DJ left!  I had so much fun and I couldn't have imagined anything better.  The food was amazing and the cake was awesome!  I can't wait to leave for our honeymoon in Montana!  Fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and relaxing for an entire week...and our phones won't get service.  It couldn't be better!

BTW...the best part of the day (aside from exchanging our personal vows) was when James surprised me by playing guitar and singing at the beginning of our reception.  We have 2 songs (1 from me to him and 1 from him to me), our first dance was to my song to him--Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts.  He sang his song to me, First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes, and it was truly amazing!  He did such an awesome job and worked so hard to surprise me (which we are horrible at) and it was so awesome!  He is such an awesome man and he is truly the one that God meant for me!  I love him so much!

I am a list person.  I make lots of lists.  Things to do, things to buy, people to call, etc.  Today I was looking over a rather long list that I have to accomplish before our wedding and realized that, though I've been working on projects all week, I couldn't cross a single thing off of my list.  That is infinitely frustrating!  I think the problem is actually that I have not added to my list in some time and so the things that I have accomplished were simply never put on the list.  Would it be bad to add them now just so I can cross them off and feel as if I have accomplished something?

I am going to start a new list of things to complete tonight and see how many things I have checked off tomorrow.  dishes, take out trash, print programs, balance my checkbook, mail rehearsal dinner invitations, and finish my program

I'll update you tomorrow with my progress.

It's Almost Time

It is amazing to think we are so close to our wedding.  It has been so far away for so long and now it is almost here.  Unfortunately we are having HUGE problems in my family right now and it is amazing to find what people are closest to my heart.  James and I have grown so much closer through this difficult time.  I am getting to the point where I am just ready for it to all be over with so I can focus my attention on my family.

It is odd how ones perception of family can change so much over the years.  New information, new situations, et cetera all lead to a better understand of the people around you and, I believe, a better ability to really get to know them for who they are and to understand the things they do.  Sometimes all you want is to be around someone who is kind, not catty.  Or someone who enjoys building others up and helping them instead of a person who must feel better than the others around them by belittleing all they come in contact with.  I have learned who my true "family" is through this situation and it has allowed me to also extend my sight to my friends as well.  Those I thought were close have now become more distant aquaintances.  Some I just can't wait to be away from b/c they are so negative, rude, and selfish.  I truly wish the best for these people b/c there are obviously issues that they are refusing to deal with, which is sad b/c no one can run forever.

I am sick and I'm tired.  I will write again when I begin feeling a bit better.
